Big dreams take more than just your imagination to achieve. But when you write them down and visualize them, you’re on your way to making them a reality. In fact, when you write something down, you’re 42% more likely to accomplish it.* By using tools from Post-it® Brand to make a goal board, you can keep your dreams right in front of you and stay inspired every single day. Here’s how to do it.
The first step of achieving your goals is to write them down. Using a Post-it® Super Sticky Lined Note 4 in. x 4 in., make a comprehensive list of what you want to achieve. The lines will make sure your list stays neat, so you can see everything you want to achieve clearly.
You’ll want a board where you can stick lots of things to inspire you, and you’ll want to find a spot for it where you’ll see it every day to remind you of what you want to achieve. Try covering a bulletin board with Post-it® Super Sticky Dry Erase Surface — you can cut it to any size board you want, and it’ll stick to just about any smooth surface. Or just use a sheet of cardboard, a piece of wall, or anything else you like.
Write out each of your most important goals on a Post-it® Super Sticky Note 3 in. x 3 in. and devote one section of your board to each of them. Since you can stick and restick them, try arranging them in different ways, whether it’s by easiest to hardest, or short-term to long-term.
Find visual elements to represent your goals. They might be magazine pictures that you cut out, personal photos, drawings, or anything else you can get your hands on. But it’s important to have a different way to look at your goals and get inspired. Add your visual elements to your board using Scotch® Magic™ Tape.
Now find some inspirational words to help inspire you to achieve your goals. Using different colors of Post-it® Super Sticky Notes 3 in. x 3 in. than the ones you used for your goals, write quotes, poetry, or lyrics that remind you of what you want to achieve, and add them to your board. Feel free to arrange or rearrange them as often as you want, since they’ll stick and restick, to find the perfect inspiration for your dreams.
Dreams are better when they’re beautiful, so add some decoration to inspire you even more. Try using Post-it® Flags to make patterns and add color, or call out favorite photos or quotes. You can also use Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape to add some beautiful dividers or lines to your board, or add stickers or other art elements that will make it feel like it represents you.
Once you’re done, look at your finished goal board every morning (or night) to inspire you to make plans to achieve what’s next. When it’s all laid out in front of you, it will inspire you to stay determined, dream big, and make your mark on the world.
