Activities for making holiday prep easy and meaningful

  • Planning holiday gatherings and putting up the decorations can become a creative and memorable experience for your whole family. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s, the season offers plenty of chances to make parties and decorating more personal, meaningful and fun.

We’ve put together three simple activities using Post-it® Products that’ll make the holidays unique to your own family.

  • Activity #1: Making Thanksgiving name cards

    What you’ll need:
Post-it® Super Sticky Notes, Marrakesh collection
    Hole punch
    String
    Marker

    What you'll need

  • 1. Get two Post-it® Super Sticky Notes for each guest. Line them up back-to-back, with the adhesive section at the bottom. Punch a hole through the middle of the top of the notes.

    What You'll Need

  • 1. Write questions about each guest—things that happened in their life in the past year, stories about them, their quirks and interests—on the front of the Post-it® Super Sticky Notes. Put the guest’s name on the back of the note.

  • 2. Find space on the wall in the center of the gathering large enough for everyone to gather around. Then, start the game.

  • 3. The rules are simple: A host chooses a question to read aloud. Whoever knows the answer should shout it out and take the note if they’re correct. The person with the most notes at the end wins.

    4. Offer the winner a prize. Even something as simple as getting the first pass at the dinner buffet works well.

  • Activity #3: Decorate a New Year’s party with moments from the past year

    What you’ll need:
Post-it® Super Sticky Notes, assorted colors, 4 in x 6 in
    Scissors
    String
    Marker

    What you'll need

  • 1. Cut each note in half so you get two pieces that are four inches tall and three inches wide.

  • 5. Hang the string from the wall or ceiling in the main room of your party, but keep it at a level you can comfortably reach.

These activities are even simpler than many typical holiday decorations, but we hope you and your family will find them to be a little more enjoyable and more memorable than the normal fare.
